why do cats lick humans

Two Response(s) to “behaviour”:

It may be a learned behaviour ie. it is a form of attention seeking by the cat. Early weaning can predispose to some forms of repetitive oral behaviours. The oral stimulation can also provide a calming and self rewarding aspect to the behaviour, so repeating the behaviour makes it more likely it will occur again in future. Some cats will do this in response to stress and some will certainly do this if there is anything salty on your body.
