My cat has a festering sore on the base of her tail - what could have happened?

Hello!
She may have caught in a a door/fence or it could be a bite wound thats become infected. It could be a number of ways that she could have got that wound.
If it looks festering/infected then she will need a course of antibiotics to help clear that up. You can cetainly salt water bathe the area in the meantime to keep it clean.
