iguanas

my friend has iguana and it looks like it has blisters on its tail. she wont take it too the vet she said she cant afford it. is there something she can put on it til she can see the vet

    She can try soaking the iguanna in a betadine solution.  Mix the betadine with water so it is a "tea" color.  A plastic cat littler pan works well for this.  Soak the iguanna for 10-15 minutes, make sure someone is present the entire time so the iguanna goes not drink the solution.  Try this twice a day for3-5 days, if it is a bacterial related problem you should see some improvement, unless it is not, or it is a resistant bacteria.  Ultimately the iguana should see a Veterinarian that has experience with exotics, since it could be related to another problem (temerature, diet, habitat..etc) in which case the sores would most likely come back again.
