dos pee pee problem

Rating: 0

Our 3 1/2 black lab has in the last year a hard time going to the bathroom about 3 times. he will stand there for 3-5 minutes and nothing or little dribbles will come out. He also has had about 4-5 accidents in the house in the last 2-3 weeks. In the past it just lasted a day or two and then it goes away. But tonight he peed twice in the house within a 10 minute span, and that was with him also being let out to pee twice. What is the deal? I really can not afford a huge vet bill right now, so hopefully you can help me.

I know these types of things can be frustrating.  If he is not neutered, prostate problems could cause what you are describing.  Whether he is, or is not neutered, it could also be related to urinary tract problems.  Having a simple exam from your family veterinarian, and if needed a few basic tests for common problems, could be very beneficial and not as costly as you might think.  The fact that it has been ongoing for some time, it is not likely to just go away on its own. It also sounds like it is happening more frequently, so having him seen now, gives the doctor a better chance to treat it more effectively and perhaps stop it if it were to cause other problems.  I hope things go well.  Good luck.
