We have a Golden Retriever. Everytime someone comes to visit, if we don't put him in his cage he will urinate all over the carpet. What is the reason for this? He is 3 years old and did it the day I brought him home. He was 1 yr. old then.

Dear User,
This is a fairly common problem in some dogs and the best advice would be to consult an animal behaviourist as this is not a straight forward problem and will require lots of work and training to break the habit. I would advise finding a behaviourist who is a member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors. Their website is www.apbc.org.uk - just follow the international links.
