Sick Cat

I have a 4 year old domestic indoor cat she is usually a very lively cat about 5 days started showing signs of being very lethargic, we haven't seen her go to the food or water dish she wont get off the bed at all. She just lays there looking very sad. There are no running eyes or nose no drooling, just very lethargic. I've been giving her droppers of water so that she at least is getting that. She is urinating normally no change in color or smell. She gets very aggitated if you attempt to pick her up like she is in pain. I feel so helpless, I don't know what to do to help her, I really can't afford a Vet visit any idea on what may be wrong?

    Dear Jen

I'm afraid there is no simple answer and I think in the long run it would be best to see the vet, but explain to them that cost is an issue and you would like to try the most economical approach first.

Otherwise I suggest careful nursing, taking food and water to her. Offer her tasty food that you know she likes. If she is still urinating then she's probably getting enough water.
