Hi,
I just adopted a new guinea pig from someone on craigslist. It arrived this morning and I realized right away that one its eyes was protruding a lot and it was red/pink. It looks extremely painful and uncomfortable. I was not notified of the situation before hand, and I don't know how long it has been like this.
Do you know why this may have happened?
I can take a picture if it will help.

It sounds suspicious that it may have an injury - a common one is straw/hay/grass seed stuck or caught in the eye. If left unattended it can swell and caus amny problems.
My advise would be to go to the vets asap as anything with the eye is very painful and also it is importanat to et attention quickly incse the dight of the eye is affected.
