lady had vomiting and dirrohea passed blood has trouble getting up and she has been biting at her skin around her hip area what do you think is wrong with her

    There are many reasons for vomitting and diarrhea with blood ranging from a simple gastroenteritis to pancreatitis and bleeding problems and many other causes. I would suggest that she goes to see your vet today and gets a physical examination and blood work done. Has she eaten anything differently recently? She will most likely need some further testing and medications to help her feel better. The biting at the hip area is probably unrelated to the vomitting and diarrhea issue. Do you use any flea control on her and have you checked for the presence of fleas? Herein NY we have had a terrible flea problem this last month with many patients coming in with fleas and thats a typical place over the hip where they will bite. Do you see any redness or flakiness on the skin? as skin infections can also cause a patient to be itchy. I hope she feel better soon
