My dog's eyes are teary and red. He paws at them intermittantly. Any ideas what this could be?

THis could be anything ranging from allergies, conjunctivitis, corneal ulceration, glaucoma and  irritations from hair/extra eyelashes. This is something that warrants a check up by your vet.
