ideas for max

My 7yr 62lb golden Max went to the vet 10days ago with symtoms of not eating, shaking, hind legs seem painful. He has trouble getting up and going down stairs and bending down to go to the bathroom. They took Xrays and he did show a very small amt of arthirtis in lower back and in hips but nothing major. They also did a blood test and all of his organs showed in good health. He has been on antibiotics and rymidal since and it seems like nothing has changed. He will seem like he feels better for a few hours and then we are right back to where we were. I have another appt for him this week but is there anything you can think of that I can bring up to his vet to check for?

    Hi,

Sorry to hear that your boy is getting a bit stiff now. Good that the blood work was in good health.

One thing you can try is glucosamine and condroitin supplements these are suppose to be very good with arthritic dogs.

Also have you considered a magnetic dog collar, i have had very good results with these for afew arthritic dogs, they are called Bioflow collars.

Rimadyl can some times cause upset tummy so it would be worth keeping an eye on that. Also keeping him at optimum weight will prevent any more strain on his joints.

    Hope this helps

Do you think that it is the arthritis since his blood work was good? Is it possible that it could be addisons? He isnt throwing up and he doesnt have loose stools. I just cant believe that arthritis shows up that fast and does so much. Maybe its the pills that are making him not eat?? What do you think about the shaking? Sorry to be a pain. I have just been going nuts trying to figure this out!
