Some dogs do eat there own faeces. It's not clear for sure exactly why.  .

The term used to describe this is Coprophagia'. It is actually a common and natural behaviour in dogs. It is thought to be liked with dog ancestory when, for hygiene reasons dogs would eat there own stools in the communal den.

The other thought is that the stools hold some nutiotionla value - likely Vitamin B and K - but this is not a proven theory.

It is not harmful to Sadie to do this. The main exception would be if she is ingesting other dogs faeces then the risk of internal parasites is an increased risk for her. There are some products you can give to dogs in the form of a powder on the food that makes the stool taste strange and in time will deter the dog.

Ensure a regular worming regime for Sadie as well.

    I hope this help you.
