is there an over the counter med that will help with his vomiting until we can get him to a vet?

Hi there
I am afraid there is no OTC antiemetic, all you can do is to starve him for 24 hours and supply plenty of water. If he is still sick, and bringing up the water as well, I would take him to the vet ASAP.
