Drinking too much water

my 16 years old cat drinks water constantly and therefor urinates constantly too. What can be the cause?

    There are many reasons in older cats for drinkin and urinating more and this definitely warrants a visit to your vet to find out why.

    My top 3 things that I would think of would be.... Hyperthyroidism, kidney disease, diabetes mellitus. THere are of course many other reasons for this too but they are the ones I commonly see. A simple blood test, urinalysis and physical exam will help find out why.
