Cat problem

I woke this morning to my cat, thrashing around the bed making agressive noises. He then thrashed himself off the bed. We realised the bed was covered in his saliva. When he was on the floor the thrashing stopped and he stood on his front two legs making a raspy panting sound with his tounge poking out. After about 5 minuites he lay down and we noticed his pupils had almost fully dilated leaving very little visible Iris.

After about half an hour we discovered he can still stand on his hind legs however he refuses to leave the spot on the floor where he first landed. He keeps crying out for seemingly no reason, often while purring, his pupils have now returned to normal but his eyes are glaced.

Just before sending this out he moved from his original position to attack a plactic bag, he also hissed at it.

What is wrong with my cat?

Is there anything he might have gotten into? It sounds like your cat was having a seizure.  Did you happen to apply any Hartz or Sargent's products on your cat recently?  Was your home sprayed with any chemicals. Are there any medications that he might have gotten into legal or illegal?  What was in the plastic bag? I would strongly encourage you to have your cat evaulated by a Vet immediately.  Also is your cat urinating ok?  Any diarrhea.  Does your cat stay strictly indoors or does it go outside?  Seizures in a 10yr old neutered cat are not common.  So any clues you can give your Vet are going to help him diagnose what is going on.  I wish you the best of luck.  Andrea
