I have a Boxer around ten years old that has started coughing and hacking stuff up and the other day he had what we think was a seizure. Took him to vet but cant find anything wrong except some black in his lung e-ray. They said toput him down. Before we do that we want to make sure their are no other alternatives

Hi there
Has he been on any medication? Is he drinking still? Does he have a temperature? What is the exact reason they want to put him down? On a chest x-ray, the lungs are supposed to be blackish. So I am at loss as to what they could have found on his lungs to draw the conclusion that he needs to be put to sleep. So to make this decision easier for you I am going to need some more information.
