drainage in eye

My dog has yellow drainage from one eye. It looks swollen and red. Can I put a warm compress on it to help alieve the pain?

    Sorry to hear of your dogs problems.

    Yes you could try using a warm wet washcloth over the closed eyelids if he/she will let you. However this is something that would really benefit from a vet check up. I never like to see yellow discharge as this can indicate infection.
