have a look at this link, it appears that chocolate is very poisonous and can cause death to ferrets, offer plenty of water and contact your veterinary practice immediately. hope he is ok

I looked on Yahoo answers and i got this message: It's not known for sure if chocolate is toxic or as toxic as it is for other pets, such as dogs. The biggest problem with the chocolate for ferrets isn't the theobromide (which is the ingredient that, in high doses, can cause fatality in dogs and some other pets), but the high amounts of sugar. Even if it is as toxic for ferrets, it would take a good bit to actually produce fatal results - there's only trace amounts of the theobromide in chocolate. A tiny amount shouldn't cause any problems, but you'll definitely want to keep an eye on him. If he starts to act sick, get in touch with a vet immediately. If he ingested huge amounts, then you might have a problem. How is he acting now? The best thing to do for now is keep an eye on him and consult a vet if you have any concerns.
