Gaping wound on leg

Rating: 7

We noticed that Jasmine's hind leg was badly swollen and couldn't see an abvious reason why. The next day it was oozing what looked to be bloody pus around the knee area. We started her on antibiotics and used neosporin on the wound. The swelling is completely gone but there is a gaping wound on her let. Will this evenutally heal or do I need to get it stitched?

sounds like she got bitten by another cat or other animal which caused an abscess which has burst, bath with warm dilute salt water to encourage healing, if it is bigger than a quarter in size it may need stitching but as there was pus there it is good to let the air get to it. good luck
