Cat having unexplained seizures

Rating: 8
Courage
Courage

Our cat, Courage, has been in good health for the 6 years we have had him. He is playful, muscular and in good shape. He eats all the time, has a shiny coat, etc.
Today, out of nowhere, he laid down adn shook for about 15 seconds. After the shaking, he stiffened for about 20 seconds more.
He has done this three times since in the past few hours.
As soon as the seizure is over, he runs off and plays like nothing happened.
Any ideas?

it does sound as though he is having some sort of neurological problem. episodes such as epilepsy can start at any time in their life and may need medication to control if he has anymore fits it would be best to take him to the vets for a check up. it may be a single occurence that may not happen again or for a while, monitor when these occurences so you can inform the vet if they become more frequent. good luck

Unfortunately our cat experienced seizures as well, the vet diagnosed her with AIDS, which can be contracted by a cat fight or infected animal eating/drinking from their bowl... :( Hopefully, this is not the case, I would bring him into the vet asap. I wish you and your kitty well
