What might be the cause of a bloody mucus discharde with her stool. I have spotted 2 spots of what appears to be blood on the carpet. Also, she jumped out of the litter box and dropped a small piece of stool with the discharge on it.

this could be due to diet change, straining or digestive system upset. feed a bland diet such as chicken and rice or white fish little and often for a couple of days and slowly introduce normal food again this will give the stomach a rest. monitor to see if the blood increases or she becomes constipated. if so contact a veterinary centre. try to keep her weight down to avoid other problems such as arthritis. always offer plenty of water. good luck
