My baby girl

My dog is around 14 years old. The last week I have noticed that she has been extremley thirsty which is very odd for her. Normaly she drinks maybe twice a day. Can someone tell me why this is happening? She is still eating the same and she really doesn't play that much or want to do anything expect lay around but thats normal for her!

    have you changed her diet? if you changed her diet to biscuits this can cause her to drink more. drinking more can be a result of things which is common in older dogs, such as diabetes, hormonal changes,changes in the kidney function, cushions disease. if she continues to drink more contact your veterinary centre where they can carry out some simple blood tests that may be able to give reasons of why she is drinking more. with diabetes she may become lethargic (more than normal), or cushings disease, increased appetite, poor coat condition, pot belly. hope this helps, excess drinking can be many things and may not be anything. hope this helps a bit
