Rating: 5

we were told in Jan 07 that our now 15 year old pom has collasping treache and maybe enlarged heart. We have Tortual for the goose honk cough, but she has collasped 3 times in the last two days. She has labored breathing, but still eating and drinking. Is she dieing?

Her issues could be getting worse.  My first thought that she is having some heart issues.  While the Torbutrol she is on will help a little, she most likely needs to be on further medications for her enlarged heart.  I reccomend taking her to your regular vet to have some bloodwork done to check all organ functions as well as a full cardiac workup which should consist of a chest x-ray and an ECG to determine how well her heart is doing.

They have some new drugs on the market for Heart conditions.  I would also strongly encourage you to see your Veterinarian and to get your Pomeranian on the proper medications for his/her conditions.  If she is not getting up and isn't eating very well I would recommend seeing a vet sooner rather than later.  X-rays, ECG and possibly an ultrasound.  Good luck
