My 1 year old dog has what looks like pimples around her mouth. Where there are usually little bumps-They swell. She is constantly-Biting at herself but I don't see any fleas? Could this be allergies?

it sounds like an allergy or something that she has eaten, keep an eye on the gums and mouth to make sure they don't swell too much and restrict her breathing, there is not much for allergic reaction apart from an injection at the vets, but if it doesn't restrict her airway the spots should disappear. if you haven't used any flea treatment recently it might be worth doing it. to check for fleas get a piece of paper and wet it and give zenna a good rub and any brown/red marks that fall on the paper is flea dirt, black specks is just everyday dirt.
good luck

Thank you I will try that. I haven't seen any fleas but I will try this. I don't normally give her flea medicine in the winter-in Ohio I always thought the cold kept the fleas away. I will definitely try. Although her spots by her mouth come & go but are more often then not. I don't know what the allergy could be from. Thank you. Jen
