My 2 cats are on Prescription Diet c/d. One cat is 15 lbs and the other is 8 lbs. What daily serving should each cat receive?

They are on the 5.5 oz canned food. The vet says 2/3 can per cat per day. The cats and the Hills website disagree so I was hoping for another opinion. Do you think 2/3 a day is way too little for on cat?

it does seem a little low if it is 2/3 of a small can (156g) for your 15lb cat, do they seem hungry and constantly begging for more food. probably feed 1 small can per day to the bigger cat. the vet has probably advised 2/3 to keep their weights down as excess weight can lead to urinary tract infections and blockages. if your cats lose too much weight quickly then increase the amount of food fed, however these diets are usually highly concentrated so don't have to eat much to meet nutritional requirements.
